Fragile Coast
Abstract series
Acrylic on canvas board, 30 x 30 x 3 cm
I spend significant time each year in Thorpeness, near Suffolk’s eroding sandstone cliffs. These acrylic studies attempt to show the unstable relationship between sea, beach, cliffs and clifftops while the gravity-borne drips indicate their interdependence.
The four canvases were painted as a group so that the images are very similar but each individual – an attempt to create unique multiples perhaps.
This project is still evolving.
